Daegu, April 16 (Yonhap) -- Korea's national soccer team are
hoping to get a morale boost from Saturday's friendly with Costa Rica ahead of the World Cup finals, soccer experts said Tuesday.
Guus Hiddink, the head coach, told reporters that he was contemplating using AC Perugia's Ahn Jung-hwan and Seol Ki-hyeon of RSC Anderlecht as the starting strikers though insiders said Hiddink may chose to give Choi Sung-kuk of Korea University and Park Yo-seb of Anyang a runout in the second half as replacements for the two forwards.
Hiddink has requested video coverage of games between Japan and Costa Rica to help him prepare for the match against the Central Americans.
KFA sources said Saturday's match was a golden opportunity for Korea to make up for the 3-1 thrashing it received at the hands of Costa Rica in January's Gold Cup in the United States.
The match is also hoped to maintain the team's upward momentum after last month's tour to Europe where Korea drew against Tunisia and Turkey and defeated Finland.
Japan-based Hwang Sun-hong and Yoo Sang-chul will be missing from the Korean lineup.
Costa Rica are also shorn of several star players including Paulo Wanchope of Manchester City, Hernan Medford, Reynaldo Parks and Jervis Drummond.
