Manchester United have made a ￡10.5m bid for Valencia central defender Roberto Ayala, according to reports in Spain.
The Argentinian was a key part of Valencia's run to last year's Champions League final, and Spanish sports newspaper Marca claims the club are unlikely to let him go.
Ayala, who is 28 years old, joined Valencia from AC Milan for just ￡2.2m in the summer of 2000 after agreeing to forego his percentage of the transfer.
The Argentinian is said to have a buy-out clause of ￡37m, but his agent is reportedly keen to renegotiate the player's contract. |
